Dr. Darren Terry is a Utah native and graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors in Exercise Science. After his undergraduate work, he received his Doctor of Optometry from Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry where he was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.  

 

Following optometry school, he completed an optional 1-year residency through UC Berkeley in Primary Care at the VA Hospital Eye Clinic in Reno, Nevada. There he was exposed to a wide variety of ocular diseases and conditions on a daily basis and performed weekly low vision exams. Because of his experience in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, one of his favorite places is Lake Tahoe.

 

Dr. Terry has enjoyed over the years seeing patients for routine comprehensive exams, contact lens exams, ocular emergencies, ocular disease management, cataract and refractive surgery co-management, and fitting specialty contact lenses. He has volunteered in local communities through the Gift of Sight program and also abroad on a medical mission in Piribebuy, Paraguay with Onesight.

 

When not at work he loves spending time with his wife, son, daughter, and dog. He enjoys playing the guitar, golfing, skiing, exercising, and following the Boston Red Sox. He also tries to keep up with his Spanish that he learned in Chile, Viña del Mar. Spanish speakers are welcome!
